Sunless Tanning Lotion

Sunless Tanning Lotion |
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve wanted gorgeous tanned skin.
Sunless tanning lotion, I was told, was the way to go if you didn’t want to
risk damage from uv rays. I just shrugged off the advice because I didn’t want
a fake orange stain on my skin. I wanted to just bake under the sun and look
like those attractive people who’ve come back from an extended holiday in the
British West Indies. Okay, who knows if they really went to the tropics? I just
wanted to believe that.
Of course we know now that tanning under the sun is
dangerous. But when you’re young, you think you’re invincible. As a young
adult, I decided to stop the harmful habit. I put on plenty of sunscreen and
stayed out of the sun. Of course that didn’t help with my complexion. I was so
pale that my sister said I was haunting the house. Yeah, keep laughing sister!
I wanted a tan, but didn't want to risk my health for it. I turned my attention
again to sunless tanning lotion.
Up until recently, sunless tanning lotions have gotten to
the point that they look quite natural. I found that out after seeing some of
my girlfriends sporting lovely tans. They admitted that it came out of a
bottle. I thought, “Yeah right. There's no way.” But after trying some of these
products myself, I discovered that they were significantly better than the
stuff sold only a decade ago. My mind was changed. I looked healthy and felt
fantastic.
Selecting a Self-Tanning Lotion

Sunless Tanning Lotion |
Lotion: My favorite type of self-tanner. Easy to use. Hard
to make a mistake. Self-tanning lotions tend be subtle and require multiple
applications to see results. If you’re patient and want natural-looking
results, this is a solid way to go.
Recommendations:
Coppertone Oil-Free Sunless Tanning Lotion
Neutrogena Sun Fresh
L'oreal Sublime Glow Daily Moisturizer and Natural Skin Tone
Enhancer Medium Skin
Jergens Natural Glow Healthy Complexion Daily Facial
Moisturizer
Foam: Easy to apply, and quite forgiving. You don’t have to
worry about drips. Plus there’s reduced chance of getting ugly streaks. The
results for foam appear faster. You can apply it for the day, and have a nice
tan that lasts several days after.
Recommendations:
The Body Shop Fake It Self-Tan Mousse for Body
St. Tropez Whipped Bronze Self-Tanning Mousse
Sprays: Least favorite. Tricky to work with. They tend to be
messy and leave streaks on your skin. That being said, there is one exception
I've come across that I could recommend. However, it is rather expensive and
harder to find. If you are willing and able, I'd give it a shot.
Recommendation: St. Tropez Aero Bronze Air Spray.
Excellent Tips for Applying Sunless Tanning Lotion
Before applying the self-tanning product, be sure to
exfoliate your skin. If you were to apply the sunless tanner to dry, patchy
skin, you will end up with uneven coverage. It will be a dead giveaway that
you've used the product. So exfoliate regularly and apply the product.
Take special care when applying the tanner to your elbows,
knees, and toes. The color can be blotchy in these areas, so go slowly and
thoroughly cover these regions. They can get orange after applying too many
times, so avoid this area after the first day, when continuing to apply to the
rest of your body on subsequent days.
After applying the self-tanning lotion, allow several
minutes or longer to dry before putting on clothes.
The most common way to get that fake-orange appearance is if
you overuse the product. After you get the shade you're after, give the product
a break for awhile.
Make sure you apply the self-tanning product thoroughly. If
possible, ask someone to do your back.
Wash your hands immediately after application so it doesn't
stain your palms.
