Natural products have been preferred all along as they are safer and provide better long-term benefits, and you can find quite a few of these in your own kitchen. Try out the following ideas to make your own natural lip balm at home, and get the gorgeous lips you’ve always wanted.

Simple Lip Balm

This is the most basic lip balm recipe and you can use this as a base to add your creativity and make your own variations of it.

Beeswax – 1/4 cup
Castor Oil – 1/4 cup
Sesame Oil – 2 tablespoons
Beet Juice – 2 tablespoons

Heat the beeswax in a microwave oven or in a dry open pan over a stove until the beeswax melts. Add in the castor oil and sesame oil and mix this thoroughly till the oils blend with the beeswax. Add in the beet juice to give your lip balm a tint of color. Stir this mix thoroughly. Once the mixture cools, transfer it into containers of your choice as well as a small carry pack that you can add to your purse when you go out.

Flavoured Lip Balm

If you would like to add a tint of flavor to your lip balm, then this is the perfect recipe for you. Try out different flavors and add vibrancy to your lip care.

Petroleum Jelly – 2 tablespoons
Fruit Squash – 1 tablespoon

Empty the petroleum jelly in a small bowl and heat it in a microwave or on an open pan heated over a low flame. Once the jelly melts, add the fruit squash to the jelly and stir well until it blends completely. You can taste the mix to check whether the desired flavour has been achieved. Heat the mixture again either in the microwave or on an open pan. Empty it into containers of your choice once the mixture cools down, and you now have your very own brand of flavoured lip balm.
