Here are some simple homemade hair masks and home remedies that will make your hair feel good and silky smooth.


Homemade Hair Masks and Protein Hair Mask to treat Dry Hair:


You will need:

  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 Tbsp. Olive oil

Mix 2 whole eggs mixed with 4 spoons olive oil and apply the hair mask to your hair. Wrap your hair with a Shower cap and leave in for 20 minutes and then wash off. This simple homemade hair mask effectively treats dry hair and results in smooth silky hair.

Eggs are vital source of Protein and condition each and every strand of Hair and hair cuticle. Olive oil combats dryness and helps soften the Hair shafts, making hair irresistibly smooth.

Homemade Hair Masks Recipe for Soap Nut Hair wash:


You will need:

  • Soap nuts, a cup
  • 1 tbsp Fenugreek seeds
  • 1 tbsp Green gram

Soak all the ingredients in different bowl overnight, and grind them differently to a fine paste. Use this Mixture as shampoo, instead of Chemical based shampoos. Massage gently into scalp and leave in for few minutes. Do not oil your hair, while using this natural shampoo. And use Vinegar rinse after all the product is washed out from hair.

This mixture deep cleans hair and scalp, Soap nuts and Green gram are wonderful cleansing agents while Fenugreek takes care of the conditioning part for hair and scalp both. Fenugreek also helps fight Dandruff, if any. So after hair mask, treat your hair with this homemade hair wash.

Homemade Hair Masks Oily Scalp Cleanser


If you have oily scalp, this mask will work upon your sebum secretion while cleaning the dirt and grime from your scalp.

You will need:

  • 1 cup of Fullers Earth
  • 1 cup of Gram flour
  • ½ cup Vinegar
  • Water to form smooth paste

Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth, lump free mixture. Apply all over your scalp, and If your hairs are dry or damaged due to frequent ironing or curling you can add two eggs for Hair nourishment. You can even oil your hair before using this homemade scalp cleanser. This works as great Hair cleanser for oily scalp and conditioner. If you have normal scalp, cut down the Fullers Earth quantity to 1 Tablespoon, so that your hair does not look dry.

Homemade Citrusy Hair cleansing rinse


This is a liquid rinse cleanser which cleans scalp from sebum and other residue left by shampoos.

You will need:

  • Squeezed, left over Lemons.
  • Water
  • Glycerin, if you have normal or dry scalp

Soak squeezed lemons overnight in water and strain the water next morning, add glycerin and use this mixture as last rinse after your regular shampoo, Wipe out the excess water and apply conditioner to your hair ends. This cleansing rinse not only helps control excess sebum flow but also makes hair shiny and fragrant with citrus smell, which helps combat odor from hair. This is great to be used in summer.

Homemade Hair Masks Tea leaves Hair pack to treat Hair fall


This is simple hair pack that helps reduce Hair fall and promotes hair growth at the same time.

You will need:

  • 1 tablespoon Green tea
  • Boiling water

Add Green tea leaves in the boiling water and cover with a lid, let it soak for few minutes. Strain the liquid. After you shampoo your hair, Pour this liquid on your scalp and let it sit for 15 minutes, you can use hot or warm according to your liking. Do not rinse and Condition your hair as usual. Take the final rinse when you clean out your conditioner.

Green tea is rich in anti-oxidants and helps promote hair growth and reducing hair fall. This also softens hair, making every shaft clean and add volume to fine hair. If you want to add a Red colored tint to your hair, You can use Regular tea, which looks reddish black on brewing. It also works same, apart from that leaves Tint, that looks good on dark colored hair but may not suit blondes. So If you’re brunette try this with regular tea, for bouncy, shiny locks.

Homemade Hair Masks Hibiscus Hair pack for Smooth, detangled hair


Hibiscus is a wonder ingredient for hair, Leaves and flowers both are used for Hair conditioning and beautifying.

You will need:

  • 2-3 Hibiscus Flowers
  • a drop or two of Jojoba oil

Grind Flowers with enough water to liquefy, it will be little stick and gooey. Add jojoba oil to it.

Apply this pack on clean, shampooed hair and scalp and wash off after 30 minutes. Hair becomes silky soft and tangle free while jojoba oil adds enough nourishment to the hair too. You can use this hair pack once every two weeks.

Homemade Hair Masks and Hair Conditioner Pre-Shampoo:


This conditions hair even before you shampooing, and adds bounce, volume and shine to the hair. With this method, Hair are conditioned twice and thus results in silky soft hair.

You will need:

  • 1 Tbs. Glycerin
  • 1 teaspoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Brown vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Castor oil

Mix Glycerin with olive oil, brown vinegar, castor oil and form a smooth mixture. Apply this mask to pre-shampooed hair and leave on for 10-minutes, follow up with regular shampoo and conditioner.

This mask conditions hair well and gives effect just like hot oil treatment, if you’re in hurry or cannot do a hot oil treatment for some reason; you can try this treatment mask and follow up with Shampoo and conditioner.

These homemade hair masks and home remedies can be used once a week if you have Normal hair and twice a week if you have Dry hair. These are cheap yet effective at home, Homemade hair masks which are chemical free and smoothens your hair without any chemicals involved.
